Maybe you’ve heard of passion fruit, but if you have not, don’t worry, I’ll explain.
I first discovered passion fruit while in Colombia two years ago and I have been hooked ever since.
It is a type of fruit. The ones I’ve seen in South America have a yellow skin. Passion fruit has several names depending on which country you go to, such as granadilla, maracuja, mountain sweet cup, ceibey, parcha, lilikoi.
It looks gross but it’s not. It has a tarty taste. No sweetness.
Why is this fruit good for you?
- Contains a lot of nutritional value such as fiber, vitamin C, vitamin A, antioxidants, and etc
- Improves blood circulation
- Relief from constipation
- Regulation of bowel movements
- Boosts immune system
- Keeps your skin hydrated
On my recent trip to Rio, I was super excited to see passion fruit again. And it’s sooooo much cheaper (HEB sells the purple type for $2.99 each and it’s smaller in size)!
Have you had passion fruit before?
I would love to hear from you!
