Hot Chocolate Drink
A beverage that takes no more than 10 minutes to make!

  • 1 tsp ceylon cinnamon (optional) (5 mL)
  • 3 tbsp sugar (44 mL)
  • 3.5 oz 85% dark chocolate (100 g)
  • 3/4 cups Milk (177 mL)

Instructions
  1. On medium heat, melt the chocolate in a pot.
  2. After it has fully melted, add milk, sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Stir with a spatula for 2 minutes or until well mixed. Do not boil.
  4. Remove from heat and serve in a 1.5-cup (355 mL) sized mug.
Recipe Notes
  • Taste and adjust accordingly. I don’t like ultra-sweet food so you might want to adjust the amount of sugar for your taste. If it is too rich, add more milk.
  • The only locally sourced ingredient is the milk, which is from Stryk Farm.
  • Not all chocolate is created equally. I specifically use 85% cocoa because some dark chocolate are processed with alkali, use several grams of sugar,¬†or contain soy ingredients (e.g. soy lecithin).
